I’m sure you’ve all seen the creepy witch movie “The Craft” or the further famous “Hocus Pocus” which starred Sarah Jessica Parker and Bette Midler. The costumes in both movies were amazing, from the witch hair and capes, all the way down to those spooky, sometimes a little pointy lace up shoes. Fairuza Balk was last seen dragging those monstrous shoes across the floor right before murdering her boyfriend in “The Craft”.
With that said, I’m confused as to why I’ve been seeing these hideous things all over my magazines as the must have trend of the upcoming fall. Gucci glamorized these outrageous shoes with gold accents for a mere $755.00, and Balenciaga plastered them all over their 2007 fall runways, but just because they’re everywhere, does it mean we all should sport them? These shoes remind me of the wreck that was last fall’s trendy “Ankle Boots”, you know the ones you wore and suddenly acquired a cankle. Ladies, if you’re interested in resembling something out of a 90’s horror flick, and just aching to own a pair, make sure you accessorize them with your oldest broomstick and cape.
